Ask

What should I do NEXT?

How many times have we asked that?

If you’re like me, it’s been too many times to count!

I think that’s why I especially love what one commentator had to say regarding wisdom: “Wisdom is a practical, ‘what I do next’ kind of thing.  It’s common when we’re under pressure to feel deep frustration and be uncertain of what to do.  When we are in that situation, James says, ‘Ask God.’”

But do we ask?

James instructs, “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.  But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.”  (James 1:5-6 NASB)

The next time we ask, “What should I do now?” or “What should I do next?” let us remember to not just ask ourselves, other people, or even Google, but GOD.  Asking in faith, we can be certain that He will give us the wisdom needed for the next step.
