Meet Zoey, our lovable little pup!
One day my young son asked, “If you could communicate anything with Zoey – and she could understand it – what would it be?” We gave answers such as, “I would tell her to stop barking!”, “I would say don’t chase after cars, it’s dangerous!”, “I would say stop chewing the furniture!” Quietly, answering his own question, he replied, “I would tell her that I loved her.”
Christmas: God telling the world, “I love you.”
Love came down at Christmas,
Love all lovely, Love Divine,
Love was born at Christmas,
Star and Angels gave the sign.
Worship we the Godhead,
Love Incarnate, Love Divine,
Worship we our Jesus,
But wherewith for sacred sign?
Love shall be our token,
Love be yours and love be mine,
Love to God and all men,
Love for plea and gift and sign.
– “Love Came Down at Christmas” by Christina Rossetti (1885)
“I love you” – the greatest message of all time, the message of the manger.
May we marvel at the message this Christmas and beyond!
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
He has clearly communicated His great love for you and me through the sending of His Son, our Savior. Have we received it? If so, with whom can we share it?
