Though I Am…

What a great example David has given to us for walking through times of difficulty.

Although he was well aware of his circumstances and troubles, he did not fix his gaze upon them.  He did not see them as his end.  How?  By following the “though” of his circumstance with the truth of his God.

“THOUGH I am surrounded by troubles, YOU will protect me…”. (Psalm 138)

How necessary it is for us, as well, to follow our “thoughs” with “You…”

What if each day we took a moment to identify our “thoughs” and followed it with the truth of who God is and what He is able to do?

No, our circumstances won’t change.  Our troubles won’t disappear.  But WE very well may change.  Our despair and hopelessness may disappear.

And we may just find that we, like David, while still surrounded by trouble, can confidently conclude, “The Lord will work out his plans for my life –  for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.”

No, our troubles are certainly not the end!

How about you?  How might you be able to follow the “thoughs” of your situation with the truth of your God?
